Sin 4 Sin Band Review 7/24

I had the chance to see a band that a friend of mine had referred me to. They are an up and coming rock act out of Baltimore and boy was I glad I went! Alot of people think good old fashioned rock n' roll is long gone, as many bands today are reinventing sounds and adding alot of industrial and technological things to their songs. Doing this, alot of bands lose alot of attention because their songs become so complicated that no one wants to listen anymore. Music is like a text book, if it reads easy, the reader will learn. If its incredibly complicated, you will fail to understand the message in its entirity. What does this have to do with Sin 4 Sin?

I saw this band at Fletcher's in Fells Point down in Baltimore City on 7/24. This band is stripped down and they keep it basic. Nearly all of their songs have a great hook, and I found myself shouting along with their firey lead singer at some points. Their guitar player is out of this world, the bass player has precise rhythm, and the drummer has an interesting sound; he's very distinct. The band itself plays Original Rock, and you can tell their influences are from bands of the past such as Guns N' Roses and Cinderalla, but the main thing that makes this band unique is the drumming, which invokes alot of double bass and crash symbals. Very Cool.

As far as an overall review, Sin 4 Sin puts Performance back into the Criteria of a good show. A band can write a catchy tune, but if it isn't performed, it will be lost. When Sin 4 Sin plays, every person in the place has their attention fixed on them, including the bartenders! If you ever get a chance to see this band live, I highly recommend you check them out! Great Show, Great Songs, and a Great Time!
